Volunteers Needed for the July 4th Swim-A-Thon & Pancake Breakfast!
Be part of this fun and important Palisades tradition to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! We need volunteers to help count laps, flip pancakes, set up, and clean up. Sign up on the Palisades Swim Team page or email Liza Gunther at [email protected] to volunteer. Information pamplets are now available for swimmers at the lifeguard office.Ask friends and family to pledge by the lap or for a flat rate. Each swimmer should raise at least $20.19; many swimmers raise much more! Contributions will be due in August. Our fundraising page is at Palisades Porpoises Swim Team 2019 Swim-A-Thon. On July 4th, swimmers should arrive at the pool at 8:15 am and get ready to hop in at 8:30. They will have one hour to swim as many laps as they can. Volunteers will count laps. At 9:30, swimmers and volunteers enjoy a pancake breakfast! Our swimathon is held in memory of Clare Schmidt, a Palisades Porpoise who passed away from leukemia in 2005 at the age of nine years old. A beautiful garden for Clare is found in the corner of Palisades picnic area.
Last year we raised over $8000. Let's see how much we can raise for this important cause!
