2023 Palisades Porpoises Dive Team
The Palisades Dive Team is a great way to learn or improve your diving and build confidence and friendships in an atmosphere of friendly competition. Diving teaches kids body control, acrobatic skills, mental focus and competitiveness. It’s also a lot of fun! All Palisades members (both bonded and temp members) ages 5-18 whose family paid summer dues for 2023 and can swim in the deep well to the ladder are welcome. For the summer dive season, a diver’s age for competition is the diver’s age as of June 1.
We participate in the Montgomery County Dive League (MCDL), a fun, summer recreation and developmental league. This summer, our summer dive season will run May 27 - July 26, followed by Divisional and All-stars competitions. We'll kick off the season with Memorial Day weekend practices 10-11 a.m. Sat/Sun/Mon. Afternoon practices start the Tuesday after Memorial Day. Our practices will be held at the same time as swim practices, 4:15 - 6:15 p.m. M-F, but we flip age groups so that kids can join both swim team and dive team if interested. Once MCPS is out for the summer, we will start morning practices on June 19, M-F 9:30 - 10:30 a.m..
