2026 Palisades Porpoises Dive Team
The Palisades Dive Team is a great way to learn or improve your diving and build confidence and friendships in an atmosphere of friendly competition. Diving teaches kids body control, acrobatic skills, mental focus and competitiveness. It’s also a lot of fun! All Palisades members (both bonded and temp members) ages 5-18 whose family paid summer dues for 2026 and can swim in the deep well to the ladder are welcome. For the summer dive season, a diver’s age for competition is the diver’s age as of June 1.
We participate in the Montgomery County Dive League (MCDL), a fun, summer recreation and developmental league. This summer, our summer dive regular season will run May 23 - July 17, followed by Divisionals (July 19) and All-stars competitions (July 22/23). We'll kick off the season with Memorial Day weekend practices 10-11 a.m. Sat/Sun/Mon. Afternoon practices start the Tuesday after Memorial Day. Our practices will be held at the same time as swim practices, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. M-F, but we flip age groups so that kids can join both swim team and dive team if interested. Once MCPS is out for the summer, we will start morning practices on June 22, M-F 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Unsure if dive is right for your child? Palisades offers a $25 dive team trial to allow a new diver to try out the Palisades Dive Team for up to two practices before committing to the full summer season. After two practices, interested divers must register for the season to continue attending practices.
Q: What is the Palisades Dive refund policy?
A: Once a diver registers for either the Palisades Dive team or the dive team trial, Palisades is obligated to pay the league insurance fee. Consequently, the $25 dive team trial fee is non-refundable. The season registration is refundable before the end of the first week of June, if the diver has participated in two or fewer practices less the $25 trial fee to cover the league insurance. If you are new to Palisades Dive and do not know if your child will like it, we encourage to you sign up for the trial first to minimize the likelihood that you would need a refund.
