In just two months, the Palisades Porpoises will hit the water to begin the 2019 Swim Season. The Porpoises will swim in Division F this year against Merrimack, Cedarbrook, Kenmont, Franklin Knolls, and Inverness Rec under the leadership of Coach Gerri and Coach Jen. Registration will open soon. Here are a few dates to keep in mind:

May 25 - 27 Memorial Day weekend, season-opening swim practices

Tuesday May 28 Afternoon weekday practices begin

Saturday June 8 Time Trials

Saturday June 15 First A Meet

Monday June 17 Morning weekday practices begin

Thursday July 4 Swimathon and Pancake Breakfast to Support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Saturday July 13 Last A Meet

Saturday July 20 Divisionals meet & Swim Team Banquet

Your team reps are hard at work to put all systems in place for running a smooth season. There will be specific jobs that we hope to recruit parent volunteers to do, so please be ready to help out the team, whether it means becoming a meet official, running pep rallies, timing, automation, selling team gear, or a number of other tasks.

In the coming days, Coach Gerri and swim reps will interview candidates for junior assistant coach for the swim team. A number of qualified teenagers have expressed interest in helping the team this summer. If you are at least 15 years old and would like to be considered for a junior assistant coaching position, please send a note of interest to Coach Gerri at [email protected] or Anita Seline at [email protected] by this Friday.
